Robert Criner, president of Criner Remodeling, founded the company in 1977 and has led the company to grow into a successful and profitable business for over 40 years. Criner began working for a remodeling contractor in the summer of 1972, when he started his own one-man operation. Today the company has a team of over a dozen professionals in the remodeling industry. Criner is constantly involved in both the remodeling industry and the community and has given back in numerous ways both locally and nationally.

He has served in the following organizations:

  • 1983 – Present Remodelers Council of the Coastal Virginia Building Industry Association.  (Chairman 2020, 2016, 1999, 1986, and 1985)
  • 2002 – Present Peninsula Habitat for Humanity Advisory Board

Michael Guinn

Michael Guinn is a native to the Hampton Roads area and adds more than 20 years of construction experience to the Criner Remodeling team. He began working at the company in 2006 and has performed exceptionally ever since. After his years working in the field, he now enjoys being part of the planning and management team. Michael states, “Criner Remodeling has given me a stable, family-oriented and enjoyable work environment. I take pride in working for a company whose first priority is focused on providing quality products to happy customers.”

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife, three children and granddaughter. In his spare time he enjoys coaching his daughter’s softball team, reading, camping, and fishing.

Paul Criner

Paul Criner, Vice President of Criner Remodeling started with the company shortly after graduating high school. He started as a helper, working his way up to becoming a project manager, then to a production manager in charge of all Criner Remodeling’s projects. He has since moved into sales and design where he often uses his experiences in the field to assist his current design work. Throughout his career he has been committed to continuing education through TNCC and the National Association of Home Builders, becoming a Certified Aging in Place Specialist and a Certified Graduate Remodeler.

Paul’s favorite part of the job is putting up interior trim. In his free time, Paul enjoys reading, kayaking, and hiking.

Rich Padilla

Rich Padilla

Rich Padilla was born and raised in Kingston NY and started learning construction at the age of 14 working summers at his grandfather’s remodeling /construction business.

Rich enjoys overseeing a job from start to finish and strives to give perfect customer service, an experience that is unforgettable and high-quality craftsmanship.

Rich loves spending time with his wife and 3 children. Rich’s hobbies are riding ATV, soccer, cooking and woodworking.

Tony Domingos

Born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, Tony Domingos started collecting his construction skills as a young boy whose father was a carpenter. He moved to Virginia in 1992 and has been working for Criner Remodeling since 2000. Over the years, Tony has gathered a lot of experience, especially when it comes to interior work and cabinet fabrication.

Besides interests within the industry, such as woodworking, Tony enjoys NASCAR, drag racing, reading, walking, playing the guitar, and spending time with his lovely Claire.

Douglas Grzeskowiak

Douglas Grzeskowiak

Project Manager

Doug Grzeskowiak started learning construction at the age of 14 and grew up in Buffalo, NY. He has over 35 years of experience both in construction and in remodeling. Doug started working at Criner Remodeling in 2009.

His favorite part of his job is watching a job go from rough to finish. Doug’s hobbies include woodworking, fishing, golfing, playing poker, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up.

Sarah Przybyl

Sarah was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia.

As an interior designer, she enjoys creating functional and aesthetic designs, unique to each client’s wants and needs. She enjoys being able to collaborate with other talented people to help bring designs to life.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys going to the beach, and drawing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Alex Hill

Alex Hill was born in in the small town of Mt. Crawford, VA.

He started his career in 2006, building custom homes, and has transitioned to the remodeling industry.

Recently, he moved to the Williamsburg area with his young family. He and his wife, Claudia, have a boy, Noah 3 years old, and a girl, Gabriela 7 months. When he’s not busy changing diapers or working for Criner Remodeling he enjoys working in his shop building custom furniture.

What he likes most about working at Criner Remodeling is that he gets to do something different every day, and there is always a new and unique project.

Richard Hicks

Richard has been in the Hampton Roads area since 1968.

He’s been involved in every level of the residential construction industry, but enjoys trim work the most.

He and his wife, Patricia, have two sons, Andrew and William, both grown and living on their own.

Most of Richard’s free time is spent at his vacation home in the Outer Banks. There’s nothing he enjoys more than his beach time!

Andrew moved from Rockingham County, NC to Newport News VA at the age of 9.

Andrew started his career in construction working at a local cabinet shop building custom cabinetry. From custom cabinetry, he moved to work in the restoration field. Andrew’s favorite part of the job is working with his hands.

Andrew lives with his fiance Kyara, son Kaiden, and two miniature Australian Shepherds Aspen and Willow. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, hiking, and hanging out with his dogs.
